President Trump and the First Lady Participate in a Greeting with the King and Queen of the UK

Gateway Pundit

On Monday, King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived in DC, and President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed them at the White House with a formal arrival ceremony, military honors, tea, and a garden party.

On Tuesday, Trump and Melania formally welcomed King Charles and Queen Camilla on the South Lawn with full military honors, a 21-gun salute, the U.S. Marine Band, an inspection of troops, and remarks by President Trump.

Following the ceremonial aspects, there will be a private Oval Office meeting between Trump and King Charles.

The King will deliver a rare address to both houses of Congress (only the second British monarch to do so after Queen Elizabeth II in 1991). The speech is expected to be focused on the 250th anniversary of American independence and the U.S.-U.K. alliance and will begin at 3:00 pm ET.

Following King Charles’ remarks, the Trumps will host the royal couple for a State Dinner.
