Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) talked about her legislative career, her future, the 2022 midterm election results and the Republican Party. When asked about the January 6 Committee investigations during a discussion with the University of Chicago, Representative Cheney (R-WY), said, “we need to make sure we don’t become numb to what Donald Trump did.” On whether the former President Trump would respond to the subpoena and appear before the committee, she replied that “he has a legal obligation, like every citizen to appear.” She further stated if the Mr. Trump does not respond or fails to appear, “the committee will consider possible next steps. And separately, we are also, obviously considering as part of the report, criminal referrals.”
But Chaney brings up the idea of President Trump Becoming the Speaker of the House of Representatives. At 19:00 minutes in she discusses her worst nightmare which given the November Election results there is a very real possibility President Trump might very well announce his intentions on November 15, 2022 to run for House Speaker.
