A CNN producer for fired anchor Chris Cuomo’s has been charged in a plot to lure a mother and her young daughter to come to his home to ‘train’ her to be sexually submissive.
- From April to July of 2020, Griffin allegedly used online messaging applications to communicate with people purporting to be the parents of minor daughters
John Griffin, who worked on the CNN show New Day when Cuomo was its host, was charged Friday with three counts that he used a ‘facility of interstate commerce to abuse underage girls.’
- He allegedly attempted to impress ideas, that a ‘woman is a woman regardless of her age,’ and that women should be sexually subservient and inferior to men
A Vermont grand jury indicted 44-year-old Griffin, from Stamford, Connecticut, of attempting to entice the girls to engage in sexual activity.
- Griffin who was a producer with CNN is alleged to have sought to persuade parents to allow him to ‘train their daughters to be sexually submissive’
‘According to the indictment, between April and July of 2020, Griffin utilized the messaging applications Kik and Google Hangouts to communicate with people purporting to be parents of minor daughters, conveying to them, among other ideas, that a ‘woman is a woman regardless of her age,’ and that women should be sexually subservient and inferior to men,’ according to a statement from the Department of Justice on the case.
- In June 2020, Griffin paid $3,000 for a mother of 9- and 13-year-old daughters to fly from Nevada to Boston to be ‘trained properly’
- After picking them up, the daughter allegedly was directed to engage in unlawful sexual activity at Griffin’s request
- In April 2020, Griffin held a ‘virtual training session’ instructing a mother and her 14-year-old daughter to remove their clothing and touch each other

Connecticut Man Indicted for Attempting to Induce Minors to Engage in Unlawful Sexual Activity at Ludlow Residence
The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont announced today that John Griffin, 44, of Stamford, Connecticut was arrested today by the Federal Bureau of Investigation after a federal grand jury in Vermont charged Griffin with three counts of using a facility of interstate commerce to attempt to entice minors to engage in unlawful sexual activity. Griffin will have his initial appearance later today in federal court in New Haven, Connecticut.
On each count, Griffin faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in jail
