Officials at the California Department of Water Resources are reporting “there are no leaks on the (Oroville) spillway”. But as of this morning a small leak from yesterday has developed into a major leak that is evident for all the world to see. The leak is located in the same spot of previous leaks have been identified before the completion of the spillway earlier this year.

In the picture below the main spillway is seen ready to go in January 2019 on an emergency basis. The contractor used roller compacted concrete to put in a make shift spillway shut for use during the upcoming rainy season. The spillway was never used in the the 2017-2018 season.
