In a late night vote following presentations by 112 people the Huntington Beach, CA City Council voted 6-1 to sue the the state of California over the constitutional over reach of California’s SB 54 the so called Sanctuary State law. The New California State Orange County Committee Chair Pamela Pauline spoke in support of the city filing suit against the state of California.

The vote also directs City Attorney Michael Gates “to work with the county or other municipalities that wish to join our efforts.”

Many of those in support of the lawsuit traveled to the chamber from other cities and even states – a detail often noted by the other side.

New California State movement through a series of ‘Grievances’ over the last 10 weeks has been openly condemning the state of California, Governor Jerry Brown and the ‘mono party’ legislature for their position on the sanctuary law.  At the heart of New California State movement’s condemnation are two articles from the U.S. Constitution Article IV Section 4 the ‘guarantee clause’ and Article VI Clause 2 the ‘supremacy clause’.
