John Harris of Harris Ranch

We in New California are all sad to see that John Harris of Harrris passed away. It was at his Harris Ranch on July 21, 2018 we convened our 1st New California State Constitutional Convention.

It was at that convention we convened for the first time our Assembly and Senate and conducted our first legislative session. The session included the acceptance of the Declaration of Independence from January 15, 2018, the first section of the preamble  for the constitution and the last item on the agenda was the insertion of God into the preamble.

We reconvened at Harris Ranch to pull all the work from our prior 12 constitutional conventions together last April 2025 and subsequently again in May and June 2025.  At the 13th Constitutional Convention in Visalia, CA on July 1, 2025 Delegates and Legislators voted to approve the New California State Constitution.  John Harris passed away July 2, 2025.

In all the years of struggle for the New California State movement we were never treated with such class and diginity by everyone who served and supported our efforts to create the 51st State as we were by the Harris Ranch Family.

God Speed John Harris.

John Harris

Beyond his professional achievements, John had an unwavering passion for helping people and supporting his local community. Whether through philanthropy, mentorship, or quiet acts of kindness, he consistently uplifted others and believed in giving back to the region and industry that shaped him. His humility, generosity, and integrity were hallmarks of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Jack A. Harris Memorial Scholarship Fund, continuing John’s commitment to supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders.

John C. Harris leaves behind a profound legacy—one defined by hard work, vision, and a lifelong dedication to community, service, and the values he held dear.
