In 1849 the California Founding Fathers met in San Jose to construct the Constitution for the State of California to become a member of the Union of States called the United States of America. The "process" for statehood had been put into play by discovery of gold in 1848 and the people of California were eager to become a member state of the United States. The process involved the writing of a state's constitution

Why doesn't the State of CA want to enforce ITS OWN Constitution, which lists U.S. citizenship as one of two requirements to vote? It's been that way since 1849, in the state's first constitution. At that time only white men who were U.S. citizens could vote, but over the years that was changed and now there are two requirements in the California Constitution - citizenship and age. Newsom, Bonta, Weber, Logan - if you have a problem enforcing federal law, why don't you enforce the requirements of our own constitution?!
