Ballot Shenanigans in California! The Impossible Has Happened!

By Martha Scheeler

This important story is written for the people of California. In the Primary election held on
Tuesday, March 5, 2024, due to the passing of Dianne Feinstein, a partial term, and a full term of
one of California’s two US Senate seats is on the ballot. There are 27 candidates running for the
full-term seat. It is important that the voting citizens in our state can research all the information
to make a free, fair, and informed choice in selecting the best candidate.

Research has discovered impossible snafus in our Primary Election. That has never happened
in the history of California’s administered elections. Every ballot and voter sample ballot for the
entire state is riddled with multiple mistakes. Mistakes on the ballot have unfairly given an
advantage to the other candidates. An unfair advantage can arguably be labeled as election
interference if not maladministration.

In the first example, US Senate candidate, Mrs. Sharleta Bassett’s candidate statement omitted
her website address and social media information. Team Hope spoke with Mrs. Bassett at length
this week and she recalled contacting the Secretary of State’s Office no less than three times to
provide her information; especially her web address as this is the main contact source for voter to find out who she is, her position on the issues that plague California voters and most importantly, the access to her fundraising so she can compete with other well-known candidates.

When she received the information that her website was not included in her candidate statement
it occurred to her that it may not be an accident. She is not a recognized personality like an
incumbent or prior US Congress person, TV personality or professional baseball player. Not
including her website address (which she is entitled to) is neither fair nor right. It does not seem
that she received either fair or her equal standing as a candidate from the Secretary of State.
Mrs. Bassett also explained the cost to have her candidate’s statement included in the Official
Voter Information Guide could be as much as $7,000 as the Secretary of State’s office charges
$25.00 per character including spaces.

In the second example, on January 26, 2024, the Secretary of State, Shirley Weber, sent out a
Notice of Updated Ballot Designation stating “The California Secretary of State’s office is
issuing the following notice of a corrected ballot designation for the March 5, 2024, Presidential
Primary Election. Updated information listed on the Secretary of State’s website but will not
appear on ballots or voter information guides.”

The ballot designation of Christina Pascucci, candidate for United States Senator (both Full Term
and Partial/Unexpired Term) is “Local Television Journalist” Due to an “administrative error”,
her designation was listed on the Certified List of Candidates as “No Ballot Designation.”
(means nothing will be printed for her career designation). The same can be said about this
candidate that it does not seem to this writer that she received either fair or her equal right from the Secretary of State. We reached out to Ms. Christina Pascucci for a comment, and she has yet to respond.

The senate race is voted on by citizens in every county so Mrs. Bassett, who lives in rural
northern California and Ms. Pascucci who is in the Los Angeles area deserve to be known by
constituents at the other end of the state. With all those candidates, voters draw conclusions by
little things like titles and social media. This disenfranchises voters from the people who they
might want to represent them.

In the third example, on February 8, 2024, a “PRESS RELEASE FROM KATRINA
BARTOLOMIE Mendocino County, Assessor – County Clerk – Recorder, states
“PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY BALLOTS MAILED FEBRUARY 5, 2024

On Monday, February 5, 2024, the Elections Office mailed ballots for the March 5, 2024,
Presidential Primary Election to all active Mendocino County registered voters. Late yesterday
afternoon, the Elections Office was notified by some recipients of those ballots that there were
errors in certain ballots. The Elections Office has since learned that every voter in Mendocino
County received a Republican ballot for the First Supervisorial District regardless of their party
affiliation. Additionally, the Elections Office believes there may be errors in all ballots mailed
out, even those ballots for voters registered Republican in the First District.”

In this press release Mendocino Counties Ms. Katrina Bartolomie claims that “The error was
caused by a third-party vendor. The vendor is printing replacement ballots for all active
Mendocino County registered voters and will mail them out, at the vendor’s expense, to all
registered voters early next week.” It should be noted that Ms. Bartolomie does not state how the
ballots received and already scanned would be handled.

Team Hope has learned that the vendor Mendocino County mailed the corrected ballots to voters and included in the ballot envelope was a yellow 5×7 card so voters would know which ballot. they are casting. A Mendocino citizen who separates the ballot from the envelope with the card they could be confused as to which ballot is being returned to the election’s office. The problem is that there are double ballots for the entire county and voters might not vote because they think the county is going to use those extra ballots to cheat.

Doing a little research, you will find that the vendor is IVS (Integrated Voting Systems) of
Dinuba CA, near Fresno. We discovered articles in the Salt Lake Tribune and Fresno’s GV Wire
that leave us with more questions than answers about this company. Research also revealed that
IVS used a third-party printer to print the Mendocino County ballots. It makes you wonder if
IVS is some sort of go-between outsourcing the entire ballot printing contract. Our research did
not find the identity of the third party who printed the ballots, but the Mendocino Voice spoke
with a man who claimed to be Integrated Voting Systems’ CEO, Eric Kozlowski. Yet to be
answered is why the CEO of IVS is not mentioned on the IVS website https://www.integravote.com/about-us, that lists Chris Stallings as the CEO. We have not spoken to Eric or Chris, but the readers are free to do so as this is not the focus of
the story.

Citizens in Butte County are reporting they are receiving ballots that do not have former
President Donald J. Trump’s name on the Presidential race and that the ballot states if they want
to vote for President Trump they must ask for another ballot. This begs the question: What about
our secret ballot guaranteed by the Constitution? Everyone must go the precinct or voting center and announce they need a Trump Ballot? This is unbelievable!

In addition, Mrs. Sharleta Bassett reported that a friend in Southern California contacted her to
tell her that her name is not even on some ballots. Mrs. Bassett is in the final weeks before the
election and instead of campaigning, she is having to investigate and fight to get her name on
ballots in counties at the other end of the state.

To quantify these issues, critical website information is paid for but not included in candidate
statements; at least one candidate is robbed of the voter’s knowledge of candidate’s career
history. Both errors are claimed to be caused by “administrative errors”.

Not be out done by the SOS suspiciously omitting certain candidates’ information statewide,
multiple counties compounded this egregious “administrative error” by removing America First
candidates Trump and Bassett from the ballot and in Mendocino’s case, not verifying that the
ballots were correct before sending them to voters.

If only one candidate’s omission could be called election interference, what would we call the
totality of these “administrative errors”? Maladministration?

  1. Democrats should be called DEMONcrats. They think the American people are stupid. They think they can say and do whatever they want withougt being prosecuted. And they are probably correct thanks to the justice system that they have demonized. Thank God for awake (not woke) American citizens who have the tenacity to research and call out these diabolical and grossly unqualified demoncratic politicians and public officials.
