Gavin Newsom blames Ron DeSantis for shooting and instantly regrets it

When it comes to public comments, California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom seems to have zero self-control.
The Governor loves to take to social media, especially when he’s blaming someone else for something he doesn’t like.
And now, Newsom just blamed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for a recent shooting in his state, but he got fact-checked instantly.
Even as California falls further and further into despair and crime, the Golden State’s Governor Gavin Newsom is focused on – Ron DeSantis.
This is leading many to believe Newsom is gearing up to run for president in 2024, especially if Joe Biden is finally found unfit to serve.
Newsom is proven wrong
But Newsom has a major problem, he is wrong far more than he is right.
And now Newsom has been proven wrong again about a charge he made against Ron DeSantis.
A Memorial Day weekend shooting in Hollywood, Florida left at least nine people injured and made the headlines as the country’s most recent mass shooting.
Approximately nine people, including some minors, were hospitalized on Monday after an altercation turned violent and gunfire was exchanged at the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk in Florida.
One person of interest was detained by police while another suspect remains at large at the time of publishing.
So of course, California Governor Gavin Newsom tried to blame the shooting on a law that Ron DeSantis signed recently.

The bill, which was signed in April, eliminates the requirement for an individual to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm.
One problem Governor Newsom
After the shooting, Newsom took to social media and said, “Until our leaders have the courage to stop bowing down to the NRA and enact common sense gun safety this kind of senseless violence will continue.”
But the problem is that the law DeSantis signed has not even taken effect yet.
Jeremy Redfern, DeSantis’ press secretary, retorted, “Hi Gavin, how does a law that doesn’t take effect until July 1st change this outcome?”
Clearly, Gavin Newsom enjoys using emotion as a means to try and place the blame on his political opponents.
But this time, he made a major mistake after saying that the law DeSantis signed “removes requirements” for background checks, firearms instruction, training, and oversight.
The reality of the bill is much different, and states that eligible citizens ages 21 years and older can carry a firearm without asking the government for a permit and without having to pay a fee.
The law doesn’t change who is eligible to obtain and carry a permit, and it still allows those who want to get a permit to do so.
Under Florida law, anyone who wants a license to carry a concealed weapon in public must be a citizen of at least 21 years old, pass a fingerprint-based background check, and must complete a firearms training class, among other requirements.
Newsom jumped the gun and it blew up in his face
It’s easy for people like Gavin Newsom to take a violent crime from the headlines and use it to place the blame on Republican leadership rather than the actual criminal who committed the crime.
But in this case, Newsom definitely “jumped the gun” and made assumptions before knowing all of the facts.
The new Constitutional Carry bill in Florida simply makes getting a license and all of the associated requirements completely voluntary.
However, the federal government still requires licensed firearms dealers to run a background check on buyers before they complete a sale.
And either way, these criminals would’ve committed this crime whether they had a permit or not.
Of course Newsom knows all this but just chooses to ignore facts to promote his left-wing agenda.
