Illegal Immigrants Flood U.S. Borders

California City Votes to Allow ‘Undocumented Residents’ to Serve on City Boards

What could go wrong?

The Biden administration has encouraged a massive border surge, with news media reporting 100,000 detentions last month. Biden vowed to not deport migrants for the first 100 days of his presidency, as well as promising to end illegal alien detention forever.

California is home to the busiest U.S.-Mexico border.

Wednesday, Customs and Border Protection officials told NBC News the Biden administration issued a gag order on Border Patrol agents and sector chiefs, limiting what they can share with the media as a surge of migrants tests the agency’s capacity at the southern border.

Simultaneously, the Santa Ana City Council this week voted to remove the requirement that residents must be “qualified electors,” or be eligible to vote, to serve on the advisory bodies, the LA Times reported. What’s next? The City Council? County Board of Supervisors? State Assembly?

What could go wrong?

Monica Showalter at American Thinker points out that Jen Psaki, Biden’s spokeswoman, is telling White House media now to ask the Border Patrol for whatever it is they want to know. “Sure as heck sounds like someone is covering something up. And it’s likely to make the media, which prefers to fawn if it can, actually much curiouser. The gag action is definitely an outrage, a cover-up, a stupid action by an incompetent administration sure to make the surge come harder.”

“Meanwhile, Biden says he has ‘no plans‘ to review his self-created disaster at the border. Out of sight, out of mind.”

The Los Angeles Times notably, calls Santa Ana’s illegal immigrant or illegal alien population, “undocumented residents:”

“More than 100,000 undocumented immigrants live in Santa Ana, according to the Vera Institute of Justice. The Santa Ana rule received initial unanimous approval earlier this month and was passed Tuesday night as part of the consent calendar without any council discussion.

The city has 10 boards, commissions and committees. Two of the advisory bodies — the Youth Commission and Measure X Citizens Oversight Committee — have not required members to be qualified electors.”

Wearing Biden t-shirts (how did they get those?), illegal immigrants are flooding the U.S. borders. Yet, Tuesday, in an interview with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos, President Biden said, “Yes, I can say quite clearly: Don’t come over,” Biden replied. “Don’t leave your town or city or community,” pretending he did not encourage the border surge.

“The number of unaccompanied children and teenagers taken into custody by US authorities at the southern border has shot up in recent weeks amid an increase in migrants attempting to cross into the country,” the New York Post reported. “More than 4,000 migrant children were being held by the Border Patrol as of Sunday, with at least 3,000 of them staying in custody longer than the 72-hour limit set by a court order, a US official told the Associated Press.”

“Don’t come over,” but if you do, run for public office in California.

“Undocumented residents will now be able to serve on the Arts and Culture Commission, Personnel Board, Community Development Commission, Planning Commission, Environmental and Transportation Advisory Commission, Historic Resources Commission, Workforce Development Board, and Board of Recreation and Parks,” LA Times reported.

Nowhere in the article are the legalities explained or even addressed. The 14th Amendment is clear: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States,” are, “citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”  The intent of the Framers was that only citizens of the United States whether born or naturalized are granted the rights and privileges that are available in America, Ken Taylor wrote for RedState some years ago.

“The Framers realized that once the freedoms and liberties that we have in this country became known to the world that The United States would become a melting pot of cultures and nationalities from all over the world. But they also understood the necessity of keeping our identity as Americans and in establishing a uniform rule of law for gaining citizenship in America and having as born and naturalized citizens the rights and privileges as an American,” Taylor explained.

California lawmakers have eroded State and Federal laws for decades, with little to no repercussions. However, rewarding those in the country and state illegally with born or naturalized citizens’ right to vote (in San Francisco local elections), or born or naturalized citizens’ right to run for public office, is stunningly dangerous and corrupt.

This could end quite badly, perhaps turning into a “be careful what you wish for” event.
