Mueller refuses to comment. So Turner says that if the AG doesn’t have the power to exonerate, then there’s no need for Mueller to say so in the report.
Mueller says that he wrote it so that the attorney general would know that, as he may not know it, but should. Turner asks if he thinks the AG thinks he has an “office of exoneration” in the hallways of the DOJ. Mueller says he didn’t say that.
Turner then shows pictures of chyrons on CNN from TV coverage this morning, saying “Mueller: Trump was not exonerated.”
He says that there’s no way that it could say the opposite because Mueller does not have the power to exonerate.
