New Engineering Firm Hired for Oroville Dam: Gov. Inspectors Appear on Spillway on Good Friday After Citizen Complaint Over Spillway

Sources to AENN have reported that a new engineering firm has been given a contract to to work on the Oroville Dam. The dam has been crippled by what many are saying are serious design flaws that have led to the shut down of the main spillway. The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) opened the rebuilt spillway April 2, 2019.

After 10 days the spillway was suddenly shut down by the DWR under suspicious circumstances following irregularities in the reporting of data from the DWR and public announcements made in local news papers and media outlets.

On April 16, 2019 a citizen reported a number of concerns that they witnessed to the Butte County Sheriff regarding the safety of the Oroville spillway. The citizen’s concerns were taken by the Butte County Sheriff to the DWR at their Glenn Ave headquarters in Oroville Wednesday April 17, 2019. That night April 18, 2019 the DWR was seen working on the main spillway under flood lights. On Thursday April 18, 2019 again the flood lights were turned on and work was done on the lower half of the spillway. On Friday April 19, 2019 the government inspectors appeared on the spillway to examine the extent of the damage if any done to the new spillway during the 10 day discharge.
