The FBI declines to release information it has on Hillary Clinton, citing lack of public interest in the matter.

In March 2016 New York Attorney Ty Clevenger requested the files relating to the investigation into Clinton’s emails through the Freedom of Information Act.

The requested FBI and DOJ documents include the federal agencies’ correspondence with Congress.

Those documents could reveal how the investigation into the Clinton email scandal was carried out.

However, the FBI said that proven public interest in the matter must outweigh personal privacy interests
