Heeeee’s Baaaack! Barack Obama Returns from Exile

AGENDA 21 RADIO

BY PAUL PRESTON

The last time we heard from former president Obama was March 14, 2017 when he arrived in Hawaii on the same day one of his presidential judicial appointees from Hawaii imposed a nationwide block on the implementation of the Trump Administration’s executive order in response to a court ruling in Hawaii.

“We are pleased that Judge Derrick K. Watson today, after careful consideration of President Trump’s executive order, decided to issue a temporary restraining order, a signal once again that the rule of law has prevailed against discriminatory policies veiled in the language of national security. Despite the revisions in this executive order, the intention is clear: to ban Muslims including vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers from the United States. We know that the United States can both safeguard its security while holding strong to our ideals and protecting the persecuted, and today’s ruling is confirmation of that fact.”

The executive order suspended the refugee resettlement program, lowered refugee admissions to 50,000, and banned the issuance of new visas and entry to the United States to nationals of six Muslim-majority countries.

Barack Obama arrives in French Polynesia

Barack Obama arrived in French Polynesia on Wednesday March 15, 2017, where he spent a month at the luxury Tetiaroa atoll retreat — a high-end escape owned by late actor Marlon Brando.

Former President Barack Obama kicked off the month-long vacation, but his wife was nowhere to be found.

Obama Returns

Former President Barack Obama met Sunday April 23, 2017 with at-risk young men and boys in his hometown of Chicago before his first major post-presidency speech.

The former president spent time at a roundtable with youth from the?organization Chicago Create Real Economic Destiny located in the Roseland/Pullman neighborhood in South Side Chicago where Obama started as a community organizer at age 25.

Obama will speak Monday to young community leaders and organizers at the University of Chicago, where his presidential library is planned.

Obama’s first public engagement comes as President Donald Trump nears his 100-day mark in office.

When not on vacation, the Obamas are living in Washington; they’ve moved into a posh $5.3 million home in the Kalorama neighborhood of Northwest DC. They intend to stay until their younger daughter, Sasha, graduates high school in 2019. Older daughter, Malia,18, is taking a gap year and scheduled to attend Harvard University this fall.
