New California State Moves Closer to Independence

Sutter and Yuba County Council of County Representatives in a joint meeting in Marysville, CA approved individual  motions to establish a New California State Constitutional Committee and to set March 1, 2018 as the date for a Constitutional Convention. A recommendation from Yuba County CCR to establish a New California State Constitutional Committee to produce the New California Constitution was passed by both counties. The motion to approve the first meeting came from Sutter County CCR to be on March 1, 2018.

Additional Action

A motion to approve a budget and finance committee from Sutter County for New California with scope and sequence to be established at the first meeting of the committee was followed by a motion to approve the first meeting from Yuba County CCR of the Budget and Finance Committee on or before January 20, 2018.

Declaration of Independence

Several counties have been working on the Declaration of Independence for New California in which the separation process will begin from the State of California. Counties who have been working on the document include Nevada, Sutter, Yuba, Fresno, Contra Costa and Kern.  Declaration of Independence revisions committee meeting was established for Yuba and Sutter Counties who will meet December 13, 2017 in Marysville, CA to further refine a declaration.  The work product from the December 13, 2017 meeting will serve as the basis for a Bill to be presented to by Yuba and Sutter counties

Both counties establish formal Grievance Committees which will run concurrent with the Declaration of Independence Committee.

The general session of the New California State Council of County Representatives will be held December 16, 2017 in Marysville, CA where all recommendations from Yuba and Sutter county will be considered.
